Determine requirement for an
Environmental Statement (ES). An ES is mandatory for installation of a pipeline that is
greater than 40 km in length and 800 mm in diameter and so this step can be skipped. Many
smaller pipelines may form part of a wider development where an ES
will be required (see New Projects).
In this case the pipelines will be included in the wider development ES/PON15D submission
and so a PON15C need not be submitted to determine requirement for
an ES.) |

Undertake Environmental Assessment (EA) and prepare ES.

Undertake informal consultation with statutory consultees,
DECC, JNCC and FRS/CEFAS.

Undertake early consultation with fishing interests
